hello arshad, thanks for dropping by and also for the informative links. let me first express my appreciation at the warm and dialogue-oriented spirit in which you're approaching a rather emotion-raising subject.

the 12-tips that you've pointed to make good sense; may i suggest a mental workout - try to remove all trace of religion from that article.... you may find, as i did, that it makes for sound commonsense advice that people all over the world, regardless of religious affiliation could follow.

my being an active votary of sex-education for children does not imply that i do not believe in communicating values, beliefs, morals, what-have-you.... in short, being in active dialogue with the younger generations. the important point however, is that these are not mutually exclusive - both are required. you cannot substitute one with the other!

the statistics you've quoted from the western world support the case for values-education, and not for doing away with sex-education... both are necessary, neither is sufficient. the morals & values involved may be influenced by the religion that one professes - but i for one am a firm believer of humanity as the prime religion, and the individual human being as an embodiment of humanity..... so i will refrain from bringing religion into this discussion :o)

what will they do next? what new brainwave will strike I wonder?
controlled sex? maybe by way of a ration card like system. where only mature individuals who meet all the required criteria can do it.... after filling & stamping all the forms of course. and at that time these wise elders will be present to tell these virgins what to do.

This issue is so warped that I honestly cannot put my thoughts together right now.
I mean, day in and day out, I see the non-stop barrage of junk being put out through the media, the completely unhindered access to ANYTHING you desire through the internet and the content of our movies and videos....and all these clowns can think of is silencing only the sane voices in this insanity.

god help our children from this bunch of morons. I guess the onus is going to be on the parents to make sure that their children are educated on how to handle themselves in the real world.

at the risk of over generalizing, its things like this which make divisions in our population. eventually, on one hand you will have a bunch of citizens who are informed and aware and in their turn become (hopefully) an enlightened society. if they continue living in this country that is. and on the other hand the tribes of the above mentioned morons will increase.

The only thing positive about this whole issue is the number of voices being heard, in all sections of the media, fighting this absurd rule. may their tribe increase..
