Breaching The Final Frontier!
The coconut oil in my veins pulsed even more strongly when I encountered this story in the venerable HT today:
By the time you read this, Santhosh George would have told his daughter a secret he has been keeping from her for weeks: not too long from now, he could become a spaceman.
The 35-year-old, who runs a small publishing company at Marangattupilly village near Kottayam in Kerala, has also signed up to become India’s first space tourist, with a confirmed seat aboard the VSS Enterprise spacecraft, from Richard-Branson’s Virgin Galactic company.
From the Hindustan Times, full article here
Once again, I was struck by the Amazing Mallu Migratory Attitude, simply referrd to as AMMA among us coconut oil lovers. Have I not thrilled with joy at encountering chaste malayalam being spoken by the cleaners at Munich? Have I not felt the tug of nostalgia (and hot dosas) when I overheard a conversation on the latest Moganlal film in a London bus? My chest swelled - Santhosh George Kulangara is going to keep the Mallu flag flying - even higher!
It required practically no imagination to visualize - the Mallu-nialization of space! Fresh tender coconut water, Kerala Ayurvedic massages, even a tyre repair shop should your space vehicle require it! If only Santhosh George Kulangara had gone a little earlier, Columbia and Kalpana Chawla may still have been with us. I assure you!! If you don’t believe, just take a drive down any of the National Highways of our country - every tyre repair shop will be Mallu-owned!
Do us proud Santhosh George Kulangara! But be warned - rumor has it that a vile competitor is also on his way! Vikram Chatwal, hotelier, socialite, Wharton-graduate and actor is also confirmed to be traveling! Show him good Santhosh, all the best!!
