An interesting story from the Mumbai Mirror of Saturday, Feb-10; and not so much for the contents, which is pretty much something that we see around us every day, but for the interesting tidbit at the end of the story.

A small-time Dadar tailor may have just prevented Mumbai pavements from falling prey to corrupt contractors and shoddy workmanship. And in how he achieved this is a lesson for every Mumbaiite who cribs and cries about the city’s poor civic amenities, but is unwilling to do anything about the same.

This was the cover story for the day, which was probably the reason that I noticed it. And curiosity led me to discover what you and I could do when we encounter something like this the next time round:

Badami (ex-IITian and a member of Roads Monitoring Committee) said every citizen of Mumbai can act like Prabhu and make a difference. He said all one has to do is observe and report any irregularity concerning roads to RMC at this email address — mumbairoads.volunteer@gmail.com

Do let me know of your experience with sending an e-mail. And you can read the full story here.
