hello everyone and thanks for coming by. this is not the bmc complaint site - though the bmc should certainly consider an electronic presence, both for accountability as well as for people to communicate with the system easily and simply.

in the mean time, for road related issues, the e-mail id provided in the mumbai mirror article was/is mumbairoadsvolunteer@gmail.com.

you may also want to check out Praja, about which i''ve posted <a href="http://theviewfromtheground.com/2005/08/accountability/ rel="nofollow">earlier.

I am a reswident of Mulund.Iwould like to state that paver blocks fixing has not been completed at several places, with the rsult that roadsde vendors have made good use of them for setting up their tables to sell their wares. Many of the blocks have broken due to carelessness in fixing them on uneven surfaces & bad workmanship.Who could be held responsible for all this loss incurred to the exchequer.due to frivolous contracts awrded to contractors by our BMC Babus who are only interested in lining their own pockets?
There was one more news item in ' Mumbai Mirror', published on !5th or 16th. June, wherein an e-mail address was provided, which could be cotacted in case of all incomplete road repair works, being carriedout by BMC contractors. I had coracted 'Mumbai Mirror' regarding the same, but have not received any reply. I do hope you may be able to hrlp me in this regard.

Dear sir,
it is noticed, that now a days roads are been replaced by fixing paver blocks.Since the contracted does not scrape the roads and fixe the paver blocks, resulting in the level of the roads raised very high above the original levels, thus creating troubles to the shopowners, who have there entrances low.I want to know,by and who has passed the notification of fixing paver blocks on roads.paver blocks are meant for fixing on pavements and not on roads, where eletrics wire and other public utilities connections are passed under the roads, which needs repairs on a passage of times.

hello KR, thanks for coming by and leaving this message. your words could equally well describe the state of the roads and lanes where i live - with the added bonus of having huge trenches for water-pipes that have been blocking two out of the three access routes to the lane.... and then having interesting excavations of about 1-meter by 2-meters at 5-10 meter intervals - which are about 1-foot deep!!

but i hope you've not confused this with the official BMC complaint site or e-mail - you need to send that to mumbairoadsvolunteer@gmail.com. all the very best.

Roads all over Vile Parle east except hanuman road and opp. the gymkhana are always in a poor state and not a meter of road is level making it excruciatingly difficult for old people and people with back problems since they have a very jumpy ride.Even in our villages the roads are a hundred times better. What kind of engineers look after this work.Is the work of the contractors scrutinised before payment is realeased ?If so who is responsible for the scrutiny .Grills have been put up on pavements without repairing the pavements first.
