Network Your Library!

One of those ideas that make you feel ‘why hadn’t someone come out with this long ago!’ Particularly for bookworms like yours truly.

I’ve been an avid fan of Amazon, specifically for the great recommendations that they make, based on my ratings. I make it a point to go there to look up a book, before deciding whether to acquire - the reviews are so very wide-ranging and useful. And to also look for the ‘people who bought this book also bought….’ links.

And now we have LibraryThing! Adding books, rating them, reviewing them, tagging them…. extremely easy and intuitive interface. And even with the few books that I’ve entered in ‘my library’, the reccos are rather interesting. Also, there seems to be a social networking / community angle to the whole thing; which is interesting I must admit.

All in all, a great idea as far as I’m concerned, hope it goes places….. and I’m not going to Amazon as much these days! Thanks for the link VS.
